ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) - Despite popular belief, gas prices in South Carolina are not immune to the pain at the pump.
The average gas price in the Rock Hill area is $3.15 per gallon and increasing daily. In fact, one local gas station owner told WBTV he expects to see prices increase as much as a dime a day.
When we caught up with driver Julie Dunn, she was getting a good deal on gas Thursday morning.
"By the skin of my teeth,“ said Dunn. “When I walked in, I heard him say that he was getting ready to go up on his gas. I wanted to make sure I got it for $3.09 instead of $3.18.”
Owner of the Exxon Quick C on Anderson Road, Eshu Patel says he gets the new gas prices from Exxon the night before and he changes them in the morning. Since Tuesday, Patel told WBTV that the price has jumped from $2.98 per gallon to Thursday’s new price of $3.18
