“Phil Markert: A Senior Moment, or Two, or Three…” coming to Rock Hill | Arts & Culture
ROCK HILL, SC – On Friday, August 17, at 7:30 pm, the Arts Council of York County will present “Phil Markert: A Senior Moment, or Two, or Three…” at the Community Performance Center, located at 249 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC.
The cabaret-style program features piano/vocal arrangements of classic standards, show tunes, short comedy monologues, and a few special senior songs and anecdotes.
Markert, a former resident of Rock Hill and Syracuse, New York, is a retired radio morning personality who has also been seen in major films and commercials, and is a fifty-year theater veteran. He has entertained audiences in California, Texas and throughout the East Coast - on and off the radio.
Eighty years young, the performer is still actively performing in Columbia and upstate New York – when not playing bridge with his favorite Rock Hill and Ft. Mill groups, hitting tennis balls at a YMCA or enjoying his family.
Currently residing near Columbia, Markert created this program to appeal to the young-at-heart of all ages, with a variety of classic and original material.
Says Phil, “I’m delighted to return to Rock Hill as a performer again – it holds a special place in my heart. This program will introduce some newer material, as well as the classic pieces which all ages seem to enjoy.”
Tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Reservations can be made by calling 803-328-2787.
